Hello! I’m Brian Raines.
I am running for a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives to serve you, my friends and neighbors living in House District 34A (Rogers, Dayton, and Champlin).
I’m a Navy Veteran, a dad to two sons, a millwright, and a third-generation union member. I have spent my entire career fighting for working families, and I am ready to bring my experience to the State Capitol in order to champion our shared values.
I’m running because we need public servants in St. Paul who understand the challenges working families are facing right now. I believe we can find common sense solutions to combat inflation, fully fund our schools to prepare our students for the workforce, and make sure everyone in our community is safe.
I look forward to having the opportunity to learn from you about the issues you care about, and I am confident I can earn your support in this race.
My Priorities for Minnesota
-
Addressing Inflation and Building Back Our Economy
Our economy isn’t working for most families. We need to address inflation and ensure that all Minnesota families have a path to upward mobility in our state.
-
Creating Access to Affordable Healthcare
The cost of healthcare, prescriptions, and other care needs is a burden for too many in our communities. We need to prioritize pathways to affordable healthcare for everyone in Minnesota.
-
Ensuring the Safety of Our Communities
As a third-generation military man, a Navy veteran, and a dad, I know what it takes to keep Minnesota safe. I support giving our police the resources they need and doing what it takes to curb violent crime in our communities.
-
Protecting Women's Right to Choose
With the recent Supreme Court decisions, we need to elect leaders on the State level who will codify reproductive rights here in Minnesota. I am committed to protecting the right to choose in our state.
-
Prioritizing Education and Job Training
As the dad of two boys who attend Rogers Public School, I understand the importance of a quality education. We need to create accessible cradle-to-career education options for all of Minnesota’s children.
